Our Busy Summer! (part one)

By: Natalie

This summer has gone by so fast, but yet its been a blast! As all of you know I went to Cancun in May/June and that was a experience i will NEVER forget! It was just breath taking! I know everyone one has already heard my stories/ saw pictures so im going to move on to our next summer activity! Well a week after i got back from Mexico i got to go to Amped well let me re-say that i was forced to go to Amped Summer Camp. It was a summer camp through our church and my mom said that one of the requirements to get my laptop was to go to that camp and so of course i was like ok!, thinking that she would forget and i would be off the hook.. well lets just say it ended up with me calling her at 10:00 pm and telling her how bad the beds were and for her to come pick me up. (its a 3 hour drive from franklin to the camp) she said welcome to camp.. and hung up... anyways, it wasnt cancun but i survived!

Gentry Farms

Kelly's last day in 1st grade was spent at a local farm not too far ("down yonder") from Westhaven at a farm/ranch called Gentry's Farm. Kelly got up close and personal with how farm animals live and what all goes on at a typical farm every day. She was accompanied to the field trip by her mom, who couldn't believe all that she had been missing...(we of course don't know what she really meant by that)... either way Kelly had a great time.

Natalie and Cancun

Natalie is going to spend an amazing week at the Barcelo Maya resort in Cancun with her best friend Courtney. Can you say LUCKY! Courtney and her family went there last year and invited Natalie to go with them this time. The girls are looking forward to many activities such as snorkling, jet skiing, local theater plays and lounging by the incredible pool and beach. They are also planning on taking the ferry across to Cozumel for a day of food & shopping. Natalie and Courtney are very excited and will update this post after they get back.

FUN, FUN AND MORE FUN!

BY: NATALIE HENSLEY

Kelly's been a pretty busy bee this week! On Sunday Dad took Kelly, Anna Shea and me to Mule Day, where we met up with the Diehl's and then discovered Mule Day was a failure this year. We were very disappointed!

On Monday we had two cute little Russell girls come over with there sleeping bags ready to spend 2 nights with us, and that's when the fun began!

Me and little Natalie played dress up...

Then Kelly, Morgan and Natalie did arts and crafts!

The only down side is, now we have about four days of clean up work, but it was all worth it! :)

Science Project

Natalie's experiment
A few weeks ago when Natalie said she had a "Group" science project for school, I thought that sounded like a lot of fun. Her and two other girls were to develop the typical problem statement, hypothesis, abstract etc., perform the experiment, collect data, analyze it and come up with a conclusion. Little did I know that the "Group" would turn into her and I (ok... mostly me) staying up late at night scrambling to complete the lumpy, stinky, discolored, curdling experiment. All in all I think she did learn a lot (most of which had nothing to do with spilling or spoiling your milk). Through it all, Natalie's attention to detail, enthusiasm, and positive attitude always gets the job done!
